ABSA Student Loan Requirements
The following are the requirements one should meet in order to qualify for a student loan.
- Must be a South African or a Permanent resident
- 18 years or older
- Must be a parent, sponsor or guardian with proof of income
- A Student studying part-time and employed full-time
- Earning at least R3000 or more
Must be Studying In One Of These Institutes
In order to be eligible for an ABSA Student Loan you must be studying in one of these schools
- Agricultural College, Varsity, University of Technology or TVET College
- Private study institution registered with SETA and accredited by SAQA
- United States Department of Education or United Kingdom Higher Education Quality Assurance Agency, accredited online studies and you must be South African to qualify
- Aviation Training approved by SA Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA)
Documents required to apply
The following are the documents needed when applying for an ABSA Student Loan
- Valid Identity document or card
- Proof of residence: (i.e. Utility bill)
- Proof of Income: Recent 3 months payslip and bank statement
- Proof of registration and acceptance letter
- Proof of course fees for the year (tuition, textbooks, accommodation and devices needed for study (i.e laptop or tablet)
- If it’s your second year of study proof that you are going to continue studying is required
